August Pics

This kangaroo was so sweet and soft. He is a family pet that was "loaned" to a teacher at daddy's school. He travels in a diaper bag on his back. Its so sweet it made us all want a pet kangaroo -- except I wouldn't want to deal with the diapers. Carsen is going to come out of her's soon and I'll be diaper free for the first time in SEVEN years. Macey is still in pull-ups at night but that doesn't count, right?

The Jacksonville Rodeo has a "special needs" day at the end of their run where they invite the kids out to ride horses. This year the turn-out wasn't as much as expected so Lily and Carsen got to ride horses, too. It was a fun morning that Macey is still talking about a month later. ...
Macey is such a "pepaw's girl". This was at the fireworks in Bullard this year. The girls are thrilled school has started back up but Carsen, I think, is a little lonely. We are really close to being finished on the house. Carsen is keeping me company as I complete the finishing touches. Today I paint the front door yellow. I'll put up some before and after pictures once we are finished. My husband has done an amazing job!!!!
Macey's acid reflux seems to finally be under control after numerous trips to Dallas and a scope. She is on two different meds and a restricted diet but doesn't seem to mind at all and never complains her tummy hurts anymore. We did take the pillows out from under her mattress (they were propping it up on one end) and the very next morning she was hurting and throwing up. Don't know if that was a coincidence or not but they pillows are back and we aren't taking any more chances.
OK - enough procrastinating. Off to paint the door.

until the roller skates were removed!
We discovered this month that Macey has a bad case of Acid Reflux so we've started medication but after a month it still doesn't seem to be helping much. She's been referred to a gastroenterologist but the closest one on her insurance is in Dallas and can't see her until mid-May. Her behavior lately has been awesome so maybe it is giving her a bit of relief? Nothing else really new to report. We still love East Texas! Travis is starting to count down the days until his first year of teaching is over. He really enjoys it and is looking forward to doing things a little different next year. I'm counting down the days as well with a promise from him that next year we'll get him back in the evenings. Carsen is a talking machine -- its almost comical that we were worried about her speech only six months ago. Lily also never stops talking. God has been incredibly good to us lately and I just feel so blessed to have such a great family and life! I'm in a constant state of praise!!! :0)

Christmas Pictures

She had dressed herself and was SO proud! This was a "taa daa"
Everybody got new nammies for Christmasbeen so nice to have life return to "normal".
Macey's tubes have fallen out of her ears (after three+ years) and she's just had one ear infection on top of another. She is pretty much always snotty and her eyes are weapy and red. We took her in for allergy testing and discovered she is allergic to NOTHING. Her doctor thinks she has cronic sinusitus and has put her on a three week round of antibiotics and a steriod nose spray. She's in the final week of drugs and is clearer than she has EVER been. I'm hoping he's on to something with the nose spray. Our new allergy doctor is great! He actually has a son with Down Syndrome who has Macey's exact same symptoms and is also 7 years old!!! I had no clue when we scheduled the appointment and nearly burst into tears when he told me. I know he thinks I'm a nut :) I think any other allergy doctor would have said "Well - its not allergies - good luck!" but this one is still working with us and trying to fix her problem - which is wonderful. I love it when God throws you a little surprise!!!
Nothing else really new around here. We had our picture shown on the Regis & Kelly show over the holidays. You can see it at www.livewithregisandkelly.com and go to "videos and clips" and then "host chat". the date was 12/23 and its about 3 minutes into the show. Its one of the pics regis keeps shuffling around on the desk during the beginning of the show. That was the Bunger family's 9 seconds of fame!!!
